Giraffe & Baby Bronze Statue - Twiga
Twiga means Giraffe in Swahili. Giraffes are found in the southern half of Africa and can reach up to six meters and weigh well over 1000kg. Giraffes are closely related to deer and cattle, and usually inhabit grasslands and savannas, with acacia trees being their main diet. A giraffe's heart weight up to 10kg's as it needs to be able to pump up blood at high pressure all the way up its long neck.
Cold-cast bronze sculpture
Zawadi statuettes are made of cold-cast bronze, which are characterized by remarkable precision of workmanship and attention to details, which is visible in the accuracy of representation of distinctive features of the animals. Cold-cast bronze allows us to keep the look and durability of bronze, while reducing the price and weight of the sculpture, which also helps reduce shipping costs.
Cold-cast bronze sculptures are equally valuable art-wise as solid bronze statuettes, but are lower in price.
